An artistic collection of emotions, buried, brewing like finely aged wine.
Accumulated throughout lifetimes; complemented with all the purity and wickedness experience has to offer.
Finds a light through darkness to surface and manifest into this artistic medium.
Karam, a multi-talented artist, was born in Beirut in 1994, raised in Saudi Arabia and currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
Since childhood, he was surrounded and influenced by all forms of art. His father, an architect who plays piano and has a series of paintings, drawings, and designs, introduced him to the world of creativity. Karam's mother, born and raised in Toronto, instilled in him a deep appreciation for conscious Hip-Hop and its poetic lyricism, inviting him to the world of classic boom-bap at a very young age.
Karam's diverse upbringing exposed him to various cultures, allowing him to develop an appreciation for a broad range of musical genres, spanning from classical opera to dark techno and everything in between. He immersed himself in numerous music programs, frequently participating in open mic events, and casually cyphering and jamming with friends.
During his university years, Karam decided to turn his passion for music into a dedicated pursuit. He began writing and producing music, drawing from the diverse musical influences that had shaped his upbringing. The Generous Poet is a manifestation of his unique background and diverse experiences, harmoniously blending elements from various musical genres to create a sound that is truly unique and authentic to him.
With a passion for pushing boundaries and a dedication to honing his craft, Karam continues to evolve as an artist, infusing his work with the same drive and creativity that have propelled him throughout his academic and professional pursuits.
"Family is the most important. We have a big family too, and everyone trusts and respects each other. Most Sundays back-in-the-day we would have 20-30 people casually hanging out, and this would happen weekly. No matter what we did, we did it together. One of the reasons why everyone's so close is because of how dangerous the country is. You never know what could happen, everyone's grateful to be healthy and alive. Very affectionate, humble, hospitable, caring and accepting...Despite having experienced more than twenty years of war, this family is remarkably loving. For me, this is heaven on earth. There is no greater place.."
"I remember sitting in the living room with my family, cousins, uncles, and grandparents, asking them to tell us stories about the war. Usually, it's not a topic that the family likes to discuss, but because we were all together, and the time was right, my grandfather told us everything."
"My grandfather started with nothing and worked hard and honestly to earn a living. My father went to Saudi Arabia with less than five hundred dollars in his pocket, a wife, and two babies, just to have thirty-five years of hard, honest work confiscated by his own government. The same government that stole everything from my grandfather forty years prior, and it's the same corrupt government that keeps Lebanon from progressing."
